PLEASE NOTE: It is important to read the README file on your game disk
as it may contain information too new for the printing of this manual.
Failure to review the README file may cause unwanted consiquences upon
installation of the game.

If you only have ONE drive, then copy the 'type' command to your RAM disk
then type 'type README'

For TWO drive sustems, just put the game disk in DF1:, CD DF1:, then type
'type README'


INSTALLING THE GAME
-------------------

Boot workbench, then insert the game disk(1). From there, double click on
the disk icon, and then on the install icon. Then just follow the promts
(you CAN install this game on a hard drive)

LOADING INSTRUCTIONS
--------------------

FROM FLOPPY's:
-------------
If you have less than 1 meg memory, then turn off ALL external drives, then
reboot with the game disk.

FROM HARD DISK:
--------------

Open the HARD DISK icon in Workbench, then open the Sierra Games drawer
(made in the installation proccess automatically). Then choose the Sierra
game you wnat to load.

PLAYING THE GAME
----------------

MOVING YOUR CHARACTER
---------------------
You can use the arrow keys, the numeric keypad (including diagonals), or
the mouse to control the character. To STOP your character when in motion
press 5 on the number pad, or press the last direction selected.

Using a mouse, just click where you want the character to walk.

GAME SPEED
----------
You can SPEED UP or SLOW DOWN the speed of the animation in the game by
using the [+] [-] keys or by using the speed menu with the mouse or arrow
keys.

MENUS
-----
Press ESC to get a menu bar accross the top of the screen, then use the
arrow keys to pick and choose. (Use [ENTER] to select an option)

[Ctrl-I] Ineventory
[Ctrl-P] Pause Game
[Ctrl-Q] Quit Game
[+] Increase Speed
[-] Decrease Speed
[=] Normal Speed
[Ctrl-V] Change Volume
[Shift-Click] Look at an object (see below)

SHIFT-CLICK
-----------
This is a feature that lets you look at a person or object using the mouse.
Put the mouse pointer on what you want to look at, then HOLD down SHIFT
then click the mouse button. You will get a description of whatever it is.

* NOTE: If you have a TWO button mouse (the amiga DOES), then you ONLY have
to click the right button, without the SHIFT key pressed. (now they tell me)

as far as the game goes, here are soem common text commands that the
game will understand:

LOOK CLIMB OPEN STAND
GET PUSH CLOSE GIVE
READ PLAY PULL EXAMINE
LOAD TELL SHOOT JUMP
TALK USE MOVE TAKE
PRY ASK SHOW

HELPFULL HINTS:
--------------
1)TAKE NOTES

2)DRAW A MAP

3)LOOK in as MANY places as possible! LOOK EVERYWHERE!

4)EXPLORE EVERYWHERE... Things can happen to a screen you've already seen
so re-visit screen often, and look for changes

5)TALK to EVERYONE you CAN... If you dont have anythign to say to them,
then try showing them somethign that you've found...

6)LISTEN to OTHER conversation cearfully! Write down important info that
you hear.

7)PICK UP anything that isn't nailed down!

8)USE items you have picked up to solve things in the game.

9)BE CEARFUL (that one had to be in here somewhere)

10)SAVE YOUR GANE OFTEN.... (you need a blank formatted disk for that)


If you REALLY need help then Sierra has a BBS, all be it a lame one,
but you can try it for help. (209) 683-4463. Suppoosedly there's a Sysop
there that will help you online! They ALSO have an AUTOMATED clue line!!
(wow).. Just dial 1-900-370-KLUE (75 cents the first, and 50 each add)
(THIS IS SERIOUS) hahahhaahha! If you are under 18 they say to get your
parent permission to call... But, if you're reading this, then you dont
need your parents for much now eh?
