galpanic: MAME ROM Information.

History:

Gals Panic! (c) 1990 Kaneko.

Gals Panic! is a "Qix"-style adult puzzle game. The objective is to reveal 80% of the silhouetted girl's image within the time limit while avoiding the enemies.

To complicate things, there is a bar with a pointer at the top of the screen. If the pointer dips below a certain level (indicated by the change in color) the image will change to that of a monster. The pointer slowly creeps towards the monster side of the bar over time and whenever the player reveals a significant piece of the silhouette. Revealing the un-silhouetted part of the image moves the pointer back towards the girl side of the bar. If a round is completed while the monster's image is shown then the round must be repeated.

After every round there is a roulette game where the player can earn rewards or penalties that will take effect in the following round.

After winning three rounds against a girl, the graphic becomes a photographic image of that girl.

WIP:

- 15th August 2009: Guru - From Korea thanks to gp-lee we got 'Ddang Dda Meok Gi' (Inter Trading 1990), a Gals Panic clone.

- 0.133u1: Renamed (galpania) to (galpanica), (galpan2g) to (galpani2g), (galpan2t) to (galpani2t) and (galpan2j) to (galpani2j).

- 26th July 2008: Mr. Do - Funny story. Tormod sent me a BUNCH of instruction cards a long time ago. You've probably been seeing them added in every so often. Well, around July of last year, I had completed a whole bunch of them, but then had a computer crash, and they ended up on the "spare" hard drive by mistake. I found them again going through a cleanup. So thanks to Tormod, this week we have Gals Panic.

- 0.123u4: Corrado Tomaselli changed/verified clocks and OKI6295 pin 7 in Gals Panic driver. Changed 68000 CPU1 clock speed to 12MHz and OKI6295 to 2MHz.

- 0.117u1: David Haywood moved Sand Scorpion and Gals Panic over to use the Pandora emulation.

- 0.116u4: Changed description to 'Gals Panic (Unprotected)' and clone to 'Gals Panic (MCU Protected)'. Removed clone Gals Panic (set 3). Renamed (galpanib) to (galpania).

- 0.101u1: Pierpaolo Prazzoli fixed Gals Panic's gfx effect on the title screen.

- 0.88: Derrick Renaud changed Gals Panic (set 2) an (set 3) to MDRV_WATCHDOG_VBLANK_INIT because these games need watchdog init at game start.

- 0.87: Sebastien Volpe merged read/write memory maps for the 3 galpanic sets and moved Gals Panic (set 2) protection to machine\kaneko16.c.

- 0.84u5: Paul Priest added clone Gals Panic (set 3).

- 0.66: Paul Priest fixed a collision detection bug in Gals Panic bootleg.

- 0.65: Nicola Salmoria fixed missing layer in Gals Panic. Added cpu1 roms ($0, 1), the two ROMs contain valid 68000 code, but the game doesn't work - might be a protection (addressed at e00000). The ROMs are replace/reload with a working version.

- 0.62: Added Gals Panic (set 1). Changed 'Gals Panic' to clone 'Gals Panic (set 2)'. Renamed (galpanic) to (galpanib).

- 0.36b12: Changed palettesize from 1024 to 33792 colors.

- 0.36b6: Added DAC and Samples sound (death, ekilled, escaping, falling, trapped, upordown and walk.wav).

- 0.35b3: Nicola Salmoria added the interesting parts to Gals Panic.

- 0.35b2: Nicola Salmoria added Gals Panic (Kaneko 1990).

- 26th September 1998: Dumped Gals Panic (Unprotected).
