jclub2: MAME ROM Information.

History:

Jockey Club II (c) 199? Seta.

- SOURCES -

Game's ROM.

MAME Info:

0.132u4 [David Haywood]

0.102u1 [Luca Elia]

TODO:

* Missing gfx rom. Only bootleg works.

WIP:

- 0.145u7: Aaron Giles fixed Dark Horse driver regression. Not sure what the EEPROM code was trying to achive, but reading half of it outside of the memory region bounds is clearly not correct.

- 0.136u2: Fixed Access Violation before OK (Debug build) in clone Dark Horse (bootleg of Jockey Club II).

- 0.133: David Haywood decoded some ram based tiles in Jockey Club II.

- 0.132u5: Gerald and David Haywood updated Jockey Club II notes.

- 0.132u4: David Haywood added Jockey Club II (newer hardware) (Seta 199?) and clone (older hardware). Added different machine drivers for the different sets. Added an ST0016 to the 'older hardware' machine driver, that's what the 'z80' rom on it is for (see ST0016 driver) the newer hardware and bootleg don't use it. Still waiting for proper gfx dumps. Changed 'Dark Horse' to clone 'Dark Horse (bootleg of Jockey Club II)'.

- 0.131u1: MooglyGuy merged memory maps in Dark Horse.

- 0.102u1: Luca Elia added Dark Horse (bootleg 2001), a bootleg of Jockey Club II from 2001.

- 20th November 2005: Luca Elia - Dark Horse is a bootleg of Seta's 1997 game "Jockey Club II", a horse racing double monitor thing with betting. The original game isn't dumped, but by looking at the bootleg code it's clear the original hardware must be close to that of Mobil Suit Gundam Final Shooting. The modified code, designed to run on inferior hardware, parses sprite ram and converts the zooming sprites list to plain sprites, and Seta's complex "floating tilemap" sprites to two plain tilemaps. They probably also sampled a few loops from the original music, at around 4kHz, in order to replace the sound section with a cheap OKIM6295. A funny note: this game uses 72 input keys!
