History:

Jungle Hunt (c) 1983 Taito do Brazil.

Brazilian version of "Jungle King".


Unlike the Taito America version, the only post-lawsuit change made in this version was the name of the game. No other changes were implemented.

- 10th December 2006: Mr. Do - Thanks to the loan by Vintage Arcade Superstore, Jungle Hunt bezel has been added, vectorization by Zorg.

- 26th August 2006: Mr. Do - Added Jungle King bezel from MAME.net and Mean Arena. Some of these decent stuff are so-so; some are REALLY good.

- 0.96u2: Nicola Salmoria fixed sprite hardware collision detection. This fixes the last round in Pirate Pete.

- 0.92: Removed button 2 and 3.

- 0.84u6: Changed input from 2 to 3 buttons.

- 0.61: Removed 2nd button. Changed 'Unknown' to 'Unused' dipswitches.

- 0.60: Added clone Pirate Pete.

- 25th January 2002: MASH provided information on how to add Pirate Pete to the Jungle King driver.

- 0.37b15: Added clone Jungle Hunt (Brazil).

- 12th April 2001: Zsolt Vasvari resubmitted the addition of Jungle Hunt Brazil version.

- 25th February 2001: Filipe Estima added a Brasilian Jungle Hunt ROM set.

- 0.36b14: Zsolt Vasvari added Jungle King (Japan). Changed 'Jungle King (Japan?)' to clone '(Japan, earlier)'. Renamed (junglek) to (junglkj2).

- 22nd December 1999: Zsolt Vasvari added another Jungle King romset.

- 0.36b1: Added layer prom eb16.22.

- 0.35RC2: Changed description to 'Jungle King (Japan?)' and clone 'Jungle Hunt' to 'Jungle Hunt (US)'.

- 0.35RC1: Renamed (jhunt) to (jungleh).

- 0.31: Nicola Salmoria fixed missing/bad sound effects in Jungle King.

- 0.29: Nicola Salmoria added digital audio in the Taito games (used for some sound effects, most notably Tarzan's yell in Jungle King). Also, music plays in Jungle King. The hardware of the Taito games (Elevator Action, Jungle King, Wild Western, Front Line) is emulated more faithfully. Playfield priority is accurate in Jungle King, however this broke Wild Western - strange. Front Line works. Merged all the drivers into Taito driver [Nicola Salmoria].

- 0.28: Mike Balfour added high score saving to Jungle King.

- 0.27: Elevator Action, Jungle King and Wild Western now use the same Taito video hardware driver.

- 0.25: Nicola did some fixes to Taito Games (Jungle King and Elevator Action) about background placement and coins per credit dipswitch. Plus vertical scroll support in Jungle King (used in ground shake), correct sprite priority, and no more rubbish is present during change of stage. DELETE ELEVATOB\ELEVATOB.DSW, JUNGLEK\JUNGLEK.DSW, JHUNT\JHUNT.DSW, OTHERWISE THE GAME WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY.

- 0.22: Added preliminary sound support to Jungle King. Tarzan yell scream sample missing. Is the pitch of sounds correct? Added gfx rom kn55.bin.

- 0.21.5: Nicola Salmoria fixed colors in Jungle King (I have some screenshots and colors doesn't match. BTW these are much better than previous). Finally Jungle King doesn't need to select the graphic bank, but still have some glitches on sprites.

- 0.21: Renamed (jungleh) to (jhunt).

- 0.18: Nicola Salmoria added preliminary support for Jungle King (Taito 1982) and clone Jungle Hunt. Slow but playable. I haven't the gfx bank selector switch, therefore the background graphics are not selected appropriately. Use C and V to change the gfx set. Control: Arrows = Move around and CTRL = Fire.
