roldfrog: MAME ROM Information.


History:

The Return of Lady Frog (c) 1993 Microhard.


The Return of Lady Frog is an adult puzzle game where the player uses bombs to clear the background and completely reveal the nude photographic image underneath.


Each bomb clears away a nine square grid from the background. Bombs can also be used to clear gray square barriers. But bombs do no damage to the balloons. if a balloon rolls over the bomb as it explodes then it snuffs out the explosion and reveals nothing. In order to clear the balloons the player can shoot bottle-rockets at them. The balloons explode to drop items for points or break apart into smaller balloons. Balloons labeled with a scull and crossbones cannot be killed and must be avoided. If a player is hit by the balloons then the player is killed. The game is over when the player loses all of his lives.

NOTE:

- Lady Frog is a typical 'Korean Style' hack of Splash. The main 68k code is based on 'Splash' with many patches made to the code. Most of the patched code includes jumps to the 0x400000 where no rom is mapped, this data appears to be supplied by a protection device. The Z80 rom (used for sound) is a hack of the main program from Dynax's 'Dragon Punch' game.

- 0.85u2: David Haywood updated the Splash driver and The Return of Lady Frog is now playable. Added 32k user1 rom (protdata.bin). Removed Z80 CPU2, YM3812 and MSM5205 sound.

- 0.79u1: Replaced Z80 CPU and YM2203 with 68000 (12MHz) CPU1, Z80 (3750000 Hz) CPU2, YM3812 (3MHz) and MSM5205 (384000 Hz). Fixed cpu1/2 rom loading and visible area to 376x240. Added dipswitches 'Lives', 'Girls' and 'Paint Mode'.

- 2nd February 2004: Brian Troha moved Return of Lady Frog from the Dynax driver to the Splash driver, without any other changes.
