MAME Info:

0.89u1 [Ville Linde, Guru, Andrew Gardner, R. Belmont]

SETUP:

- The game has an unemulated network board. When the game says "Network Board not present", go to the test menu (F2), select GAME ASSIGNMENTS and set 'LINK ID' to SINGLE.

WIP:

- 0.143u6: Added driveboard rom epr-19338a.bin.

- 0.138u2: Alex corrected sound rom loading for the Scud Race & Scud Race Plus sets. Fixed samples rom address from $2 to $400000.

- 12th June 2010: Alex's Rom Dumping Project - Well as i got a Scud Race cab, the obvious step was to upgrade it to plus version. So i did, i got roms from MAME, burnt those and put those on both boards as MAME layout. Thing is that, game worked fine, not video glitches, but SE sound seemed screwed, some samples were swapped, others could not be heard, others sounded like garbage and so... So we had a SE problem at first, i came to the conclusion that one of the EPROMs could be bad, so i removed all roms, and passed all over Clearmame Pro. Result was that my roms were good. I moved the set to the other scud race board, and i had the same problem, so, there was something bad on the addon at all. I asked someone that had more model3 knowleage than i do, and he told me that something was wrong about IC24. He looked on his hdd and found that MPR-20101 should be in IC24 position replacing old maskrom, i decided that it was worth a try, and i placed it there. Well, it worked, glitches are gone, and everything is working fine. So once again, MAME is wrong (i dont know how many times i said that before), and ofcourse, guess who dumped the game... Now, some pictures of the game itself. Differences betwen regular version and PLUS version is the adition of a new track (super begginer) and the posibility to play tracks on reverse holding start button while selecting track. Also, there are hidden vehicles that can be selected the same way (holding start button at car selection screen). Vehicles are school bus, tank, cat... Well, i wonder if anyone would care on fix this mess.

- 8th June 2010: Alex's Rom Dumping Project - I am the proud owner of a Scud Race Sega Model 3 cabinet i cant believe this happened at all. Now, i just need some time to play with it.

- 1st July 2009: R. Belmont - Phil Bennett and I are bringing Sega MODEL 3 back. These are images from current MAME, not 0.119.

- 0.129u6: Leif Hurst added clone Scud Race (Japan), not working.

- 0.129u5: Couriersud added register SXFER (0x05) to the 53c810 - nothing more. This reg determines SCSI transfer speeds. scud / scuda now fatalerror with writes to reg # 0x70.

- 0.126: Changed description to 'Scud Race Plus (Revision A)'.

- 0.101u3: Added sound1 rom ($800000) to clone Scud Race Plus.

- 0.101u1: Ville Linde and Guru added clone Scud Race Plus.

- 10th October 2005: Guru - Scud Race Plus (Sega Model 3) arrived earlier this morning in a 'Top-Secret' local deal.

- 0.99u3: Ville Linde fixed PowerPC recompiler so that Scud Race works again.

- 0.90u2: Changed PPC603 CPU1 clock speed to 100MHz. Added Paddle, 8x buttons and 2nd coin slot.

- 3rd January 2005: Ville Linde - Fixed some bugs in the SCSI emulation, and now 3D graphics is also working in Virtua Fighter 3, Sega Bass Fishing, Scud Race and the Step 1.5 versions of Virtua Striker 2 and VS2 '98. There are still a lot of glitches and crashing though.

- 12th December 2004: Ville Linde - Fixed a ton of bugs in the PPC603 core and fixed the EEPROM among other things. Scud Race now runs normally through the attract mode (without 3D graphics of course).

- 0.89u3: Ville Linde added clone Scud Race (Export). Changed parent description to 'Scud Race (Australia)'.

- 0.89u1: Added Scud Race (Sega 1996). Some basic 2D hooked up, nothing more.

- 13th April 2003: Guru - Dumped Scud Race (Sega 1996, Model 3 Step 1.5).
