This game is also known as "Kicker", and known in Japan as 'Shourinjihe no Michi' (translates from Japanese as 'Shaolin Road').

- TIPS AND TRICKS -

* Attack enemies when they are moving from floor to floor : When enemies are moving from floor to floor is a great opportunity to attack them! Attack them when they have landed!

* More points with jump kicks : You get 200 points if you take out an enemy. If you do so with a jump kick, you get 500 points! Take multiple enemies out at once and you get more points.

* Push bosses out of the screen : If you attack a boss and push him out of the screen, you can send him to the other side of the screen.

* Bring back the iron ball : After shooting an iron ball, press the control pad in the opposide direction to bring it back.

* You can pick up iron balls : If the time limit comes when you have an iron ball, the iron ball turns back to Ball 1 and flies away. Make use of this and press the kick button right before the time limit. The iron ball you have kicked turns back to Ball 1 at an ideal position and you can pick it up.

* Go for the green enemy : There are a bunch of enemies carrying items. Take them out and obtain all those items.

* Jump at heights : You incur damage if you get to a height difference while walking. If you jump and go down, you take no damage.

Bugs:

- Turn on service mode and when you go through the tests 6 coloured boxes stay on the bottom of the screen. Speedfreak (ID 00349)

WIP:

- 0.139u3: Atari Ace converted Shao-lin's Road driver to driver_data.

- 0.139u2: Changed description of clones 'Shao-lin's Road' to 'Shao-lin's Road (set 1)' and 'Shao-lin's Road (bootleg)' to 'Shao-lin's Road (set 2)'. Replaced 2x SN76489 sound with 2x SN76489A and swapped gfx2 roms in Shao-lin's Road (set 2).

- 15th August 2010: Smitdogg - I got an original Shaolin's Road board that had rom labels differing from sets dumped. It turned out it's the set that the bootleg in MAME was made from, but it will still make a new non-bootleg set for MAME.

- 0.138u1: Re-added gfx1 roms ($0, 2000 - 8k).

- 0.137u4: Replaced gfx1 roms ($0, 2000 - 8k) with 16k. Fixed rom names.

- 0.136u2: Corrado Tomaselli changed Kicker/Shao-lin's Road to use the 76489A variant (verified on PCB).

- 0.136: Kevin Eshbach added clone Shao-lin's Road (bootleg).

- 24th December 2009: Smitdogg - Keshbach dumped a bootleg of Shao-lin's Road.

- 0.131u1: Angelo Salese merged memory maps in the Shao-lin's Road driver.

- 0.123u1: Zsolt Vasvari unified transparency handling between Scooter Shooter, Shao-Lin's Road and Time Pilot '84. Removed color tables from Shao-Lin's Road. Added RESNET color computations where appropriate. Changed palettesize to 4096 colors. Changed description of clone to 'Shao-lin's Road'.

- 0.122u7: Corrado Tomaselli verified/corrected frequencies in Kicker and clone Shao-Lin's Road. Changed M6809 CPU1 clock speed to 1536000 Hz.

- 0.93: Changed 2nd SN76496 clock speed to 3072000 Hz.

- 0.71: Removed 3rd coin slot.

- 0.70: Added 'Single/Dual Control Upright' dipswitch.

- 5th May 2002: David Haywood fixed the crash bug in clone Shao-Lin's Road.

- 0.36b6: Changed the 2x SN76496 clock speeds to 1536000 Hz.

- 23rd September 1999: Takahiro Nogi has corrected sound frequency in Mikie and Shao-Lin's Road.

- 0.34b1: Added color proms ($0, 100, 200, 300, 400).

- 0.33b7: Nicola Salmoria added Kicker (Konami 1985). The Shao-Lin's Road program ROMs are identical to Kicker, only the title graphics are different. Known issues: Sometimes there is a blinking sprite in the bottom left corner of the high score entry screen.

- 0.31: Gerrit Van Goethem added accurate colors and high score saving to Shaolin's Road. Fixed gfx rom loading. Known issues: Sometimes there is a blinking sprite in the bottom left corner of the high score entry screen.

- 0.30: Allard van der Bas added Shao-Lin's Road (Konami 1985). Sometimes there is a blinking sprite in the bottom left corner of the high score entry screen.
