History:

Star Wars (c) 19??.


Star Wars is a 2-D shooter where you are given 3 missiles to shoot at 2 rows of alien ships at the top. Miniature rock-like satellites move around the screen, ready to obliterate your missile at any moment, and the ships themselves shoot at you.

- SCORING -


1st rack : 50 (side hit), 100 (bottom, towards the side) or 150 (near middle of bottom) points for each ship.

2nd rack : 100 (side hit), 200 (bottom, towards the side) or 250 (near middle of bottom) points for each ship.

3rd rack : 150 (side hit), 300 (bottom, towards the side) or 350 (near middle of bottom) points for each ship.

You can probably figure the scores for higher racks from the patterns here.

- 0.141u4: hap dedicated Galaxy Wars cabs are not b/w but have color maps for now, use proms from another game and mark sets as bad dump/wrong colors. Replaced DISCRETE sound with Invaders samples (1. - 9.wav) and proms ($0, 400).

- 0.133u1: Renamed (galxwar2) to (galxwars2) and (galxwart) to (galxwarst).

- 0.114u2: Replaced Samples sound with Discrete.

- 0.111u4: Changed 8080 CPU clock speed to 1996800 Hz.

- 16th October 2006: Mr. Do - Bobby Tribble sent me a BUNCH of photographs. I worked on the easy ones first: Galaxy Wars bezel.

- 0.53: MASH added Galaxy Wars (Universal set 1) and clone (Universal set 2). Changed 'Galaxy Wars' to clone 'Galaxy Wars (Taito?)'. Renamed (galxwars) to (galxwart).

- 30th April 2001: MASH and David Haywood added another Galaxy Wars romset.

- 0.37b1: Added SN76477 sound (samples 0.wav and 10 - 18.wav are no longer needed).

- 0.36b11: Added clone Star Wars (bootleg 1979).

- 0.29: Valerio Verrando added high score saving to Galaxy Wars.

- 0.08: Nicola Salmoria added Galaxy Wars (Taito 1979).
