| This program is the unofficial successor to what is probably the oldest Atari GEM game, as the original version of Breakout was already available in 1985. In the '92 version of the Atari game, there are various options. Technically, the game is unspectacular and has little to offer other than a nice color transition in the wall. As with the original, every level looks the same, so the game gets boring after a while. The sound, however, surprises with a few well-done sound samples. In terms of gameplay, there is not only the original mode, but also "Breakthru". 3 levels of difficulty and the option to control the game with paddles round off the game. Breakout can be installed as a program or accessory. |
