Computer Scrabble - Atari ST
Computer Scrabble is the first official version of this popular word game. The game features a dictionary of 8,500 to 20,000 words, depending on the computer, containing the most frequently used words in Scrabble. As a result, some very obscure words (mostly 2- or 3-letter words, experienced Scrabble players know this is often the most profitable way to score points) are included, but common words like "bigot" and "sheen" are interrogated by the game. Simply indicate that your move is a word, and it will confidently move on.
Words are entered by moving the cursor to the starting position of the word, then pressing the key to enter the word, then pressing the space bar to simulate an empty square. All words formed are accurately counted. The game allows you to manually juggle and rearrange the squares. You can also watch the computer "think" by identifying possible moves and their scores. There are 4 difficulty levels, the highest of which can reach cumulative scores above 700. |
