Released in 2001, Tenori-on is a limited-edition release of a simple step sequencer developed by the Japanese artist Toshio Iwai. This non-game would be the precursor to the more advanced 2005 electronic musical instrument designed and created by Iwai and Yu Nishibori of the Music and Human Interface Group at the Yamaha Center for Advanced Sound Technology.
