| Pegasus Odyssey puts you in control of a winged Pegasus, with flight mechanics similar to the arcade classic Joust. Against a backdrop of mountains and a glowing volcano, you face giant bats emerging from a cave. To defeat them, you must strike from above – if they strike you from higher up, you lose a life. Defeated bats turn into eggs that bounce to the ground; if not stepped on in time, they hatch into new enemies. Your Pegasus can only stay airborne by constant flapping, while horizontal movement continues through inertia. You can land and slide on the ground, while bouncing off the top edge of the screen. When you die, the volcano releases a fireball that transforms into your new Pegasus. Two players can join in cooperative play, with their pegasi passing harmlessly through one another. Ten levels of difficulty keep the challenge intense. |
