| "Defender of the Crown II" places the player in the role of one of four Saxon knights in medieval England, a time of turmoil as the King is dead and his crown has been stolen. The Saxons and Normans blame each other and fight for control of the land. After a brief introduction by Robin of Locksley, the game begins with a single castle and ten soldiers. From there, the player must build an army, conquer new territories, and defeat the three Norman lords — sometimes even Saxon allies. In addition to conquest, the game offers various strategic options: participating in a jousting tournament to gain fame or land, raiding enemy castles for loot, or winning the hand of a princess to unite territories and expand influence. |
