Populous II: Trials of the Olympian Gods is a 1991 strategy video game developed by Bullfrog Productions for Amiga, Atari ST and MS-DOS. It is the direct sequel to Populous and was remastered for the Nintendo DS in 2008. In Populous II, the player, as a demigod, a child of Zeus, leads his people into battle against followers of enemy gods, specifically in the context of Greek mythology. In the game, the player fights various Greek deities one after the other and ultimately strives to face Zeus. Zeus promises to accept the player into the pantheon on Olympus if he survives all the battles. The game retains the basic mechanics of its predecessor and is considered one of Bullfrog's most famous games.
