As a young Roman legionary in 275 BC, your mission is to conquer the known world by force or diplomacy, fighting on land and sea. You start with one province, Rome, and one legion. To complete the game, you must conquer all the provinces on the map.
Part of the game involves micro-managing your provinces. You set tax rates and keep people happy by organising games. In Rome, you can organise a chariot race, a gladiatorial combat or even a naval battle simulation.
Another part of the game is military conquest. You can raise legions or reinforce them in any province you control. There are three types of legion, each with a different strength. You can also move a legion into a neighbouring province. |
