Necronomicon is based on the writings of H.P. Lovecraft. The story takes place in Lovecraft's fictional town of Arkham, New England. It is said that a terrible ritual took place there, in which a woman gave birth to a demonic child. A journalist named Jonathan travels to Arkham to verify these rumours and to explore the ruins of an ancient monastery. Jonathan will meet other characters who have their own agenda. Terrifying nightmares now haunt Jonathan.
Necronomicon is a traditional Japanese adventure, with no puzzles and a simple point-and-click interface for interaction. Navigation is either via a menu command or by selecting a location on the Arkham map.
The graphics have an anime-manga style aesthetic. The game contains disturbing scenes, as well as nudity. |
