In the late 1980s, a small French studio, Legend Software, took over the development of the space adventure Nishiran . The creation of the game took place under the sign of constant problems with publishers. That is why the project was originally intended for the Amiga, then for Atari. A completely playable build existed already in 1990, but misfortunes followed the authors relentlessly.
Further work on the game was carried out by the two remaining enthusiasts: the designer Manuel Pires and the programmer Guillaume Lamonoca for free, in the hope of bringing the completed project to life. In a year and a half, they not only finalized the Atari version, but also made the game cross-platform by adding the ability to run Nishiran on a PC.
The adventure itself begins with a certain Kamashi, the regional steward of the star empire, summons the main character to solve the problem with the planet Drenium. The emperor who reigned there died, and the throne passed by inheritance to one of his two sons (called clever in the annals). Another son (called ambitious in the annals) fell into anger about this, swore a lot and flew away from the planet (but promised to return). Some time after this, contact with Drenia was lost. The bosses of the empire began to suspect that the planet was captured by a dictator, who was going to use its resources to take over the universe. |
