NHL 09 continues to lead sports gaming innovation with enhanced controls, added depth and accessibility. A new Be A Pro mode allows gamers to step on the ice as themselves and progress from the AHL to the NHL in a quest to become the next great NHL superstar. NHL09 will also be the first true console sports massively multiplayer online game, allowing you to assemble a team online featuring your created player and five friends in the new EA SPORTS Hockey League. The game also features an all new defensive skill stick that allows for stick sweeps, better poke checks and the ability to lift an opponents stick to prevent a shot.
