Mr. Nutz 2 is a Sega Genesis port of Mr. Nutz Hoppin' Mad for the Amiga. It was developed by Neon and was to be released in 1995 by Ocean but the Genesis market began to die around that time and so Ocean decided not to release it. Someone related to Neon released the source code of this port during the late 2000s and some pictures of the ROM as well (which couldn't be released due to copyright problems). Compiling the source code into a ROM was hard at first but it was eventually done, and the compiled ROM was released in the Sonic Retro forum.
This ROM (which is the one played in the video) is apparently a near final beta because there are no Neon or Ocean logos at the beggining and the title of the ROM is "Mr. Nutz Hoppin' Mad" like in the original Amiga version instead of "Mr. Nutz 2" like in the screenshots that were released before. Other than that, the game looks complete and is playable. |
