An ordinary young student lives alone in his apartment and learns that another young student (Ryoko) is looking for a place to stay for a few months. The young man has a spare room, and Ryoko ends up moving in with him. They'll have plenty of time to get to know each other, but will they end up becoming more than just roommates?

This is a love-simulation adventure game and the first title in the Roommate series. The player can move freely around the apartment, and the game consists mainly of voice dialogue sequences where the player interacts with Ryoko and can respond to her via multiple-choice answers. Unlike many games of this type, the game's two-week story progresses in real time thanks to the Saturn's (or PocketStation's in the PlayStation version) internal clock, and the time and frequency of the player's visits influence the events that occur and the relationship between the protagonist and Ryoko, leading to several different endings.
