Little is known about the "Bros - The Music Box" for the ZX Spectrum, or how it differs from the original 1986 release of the original game.
The original game contained two revolutionary music programs. The first of these is for the 48K Spectrum or Spectrum Plus, and provides two channel sound and percussion effects. The other program for the Spectrum 128, enables full use of the sound chip in the computer, giving three sound channels and envelopes, slide effects, percussion effects, loops and volume control.
Both programs allow you to build up tunes channel by channel on keys set out as for a musical keyboard. Once composed a tune can be played back directly through Hi-Fi, or saved for later incorporation in other games or educational programs. Both these powerful programs stretch the sound chip in the Spectrum to its utmost limits, without assuming any programming or musical knowledge. |
