Based on the popular Japanese anime series "One Piece" comes another PlayStation2 release, this time a 1 one 1 fighting game, published by Bandai. The game includes the latest characters from the manga series, such as Franky and Aokiji from the Water Seven Saga.
Luffy and crew engage in another 3D fighting foray where their special abilities are mustered for maximum effect against opponents. The engine in the latest One Piece game uses two combo systems:
- Rumble Combo - Every blow registers on the combo meter which pops up in aqua and pink neon. Fighters may chain together punches, kicks, and special attacks which all register on the combo meter. When a mighty move is pulled off, the screen will pause for a microsecond and an animated sequence kicks off which shows the attack from multiple angles.
- Fake Combo/Command Arts - Refers to a combo where a menu is bought up with six slots which registers each combo move. To pull off the Fake Combo, perform up to six combos quickly before the time limit exhausts itself |
