Live Wire is an updated version of the classic early 80s game Painter, in which you had to color in as many squares as possible by tracing their edges with a roller. This time around, you're a bug-eyed fish-cum-dinosaur creature that hovers inches from the ground, dribbling a trail of paint behind you wherever you go. Live Wire is a game of territory, played on a grid of squares. The player's character must run around all four sides of the squares that make up the playing grid to turn them to your colour. There are three other characters trying to do the same thing, and the winner has the most territory at the end of the time allotted, or when all territory is claimed. While you're doing this, you will be pestered by the sharks that prowl just beneath the game board, as well as all manner of crazy creatures bent on destroying you. A 'house music' soundtrack enhances the frantic style of play. |
