rthun2: MAME ROM Information.

History:

Rolling Thunder 2 (c) 1990 Namco.

A straight sequel to the superb 1986 original, Rolling Thunder 2 sees one or two players taking control of secret agents in this scrolling, platform shoot-em-up. The agents once again find themselves up against the sinister GERDRA organisation and its many armed agents. Gameplay is very similar to the original, with doors both releasing enemies and hiding weapons and ammunition for the players to collect.

Rolling Thunder 2 improves on its illustrious predecessor in a number of ways; the most obvious one being the vastly improved and incredibly colourful graphics. The most striking improvement, however, is the addition of a simultaneous, co-operative two player mode; which adds immeasurably to the game's appeal. For the sequel, the one player agent is a woman, with a second player taking the role of a male agent.

WIP:

- 26th July 2008: Mr. Do - Funny story. Tormod sent me a BUNCH of instruction cards a long time ago. You've probably been seeing them added in every so often. Well, around July of last year, I had completed a whole bunch of them, but then had a computer crash, and they ended up on the "spare" hard drive by mistake. I found them again going through a cleanup. So thanks to Tormod, this week we have Rolling Thunder 2.

- 0.88u1: Phil Stroffolino fixed sprite priorities in Rolling Thunder 2.

- 0.36b9: Added clone Rolling Thunder 2 (Japan).

- 0.36b8: Keith Wilkins added Rolling Thunder 2 (Namco 1990).

- 25th October 1999: Keith Wilkins got Rolling Thunder 2 working by patching the protection.

- 0.35b10: Added Rolling Thunder 2 (Testdriver).

STORY:

- In 199x, orbiting satellites of many countries were mysterioulsy destroyed, one after another. Information was cut off and the world fell into chaos. While investigating the problem, WCPO discovered a diabolical plot. The evil gang known as Geldra, which was once destroyed, has now resurfaced and become active again. Thus, the battles of special agent Rolling Thunder begin again.
