RVF Honda puts you on board a realistically modelled RC30 motorcycle running for world championship. Initially you race at Clubman level on fictional local tracks before moving on to the UK and then the World Championship if you're good enough.

Each racing class has 8 computer opponents, with the top 7 in each of the 8 championship races scoring points, and races can be set to 5, 10, 15 or 20 laps. The game's graphics features sprite-based bikes on top of a polygonal landscape, making for very fast-paced gameplay.

The tracks feature puddles to disrupt the bike's handling, and oil, which can cause crashes. It takes a while to get the bike back up and running again (more realistic than most bike games of the time, but frustrating because you suffer more from mistakes) and after a few crashes the bike's dashboard breaks down, making competitive riding much harder.

There is a 2-player null-modem link mode, which can support an ST race against an Amiga if you have the right cable.
