Arnie Armchair's Howzat Cricket Game is a one or two player cricket game that can be played using a keyboard or joystick. It offers three modes: a limited overs game, a one-day game, or a test match, with increasing game length. In Armchair Cricket mode, the game dictates the player names, while in Personal Team Selection mode, you can enter your own team names. The game begins with a cricket pitch on which the bowler, wicket-keeper, and two opposing batsmen are positioned. The player selects a bowler (fast, medium, spin, or bouncer) and starts the game. When batting, the player can control direction using the fire and directional keys, releasing at the last moment for maximum power. Fielders can stop the ball or throw it to the wicket for a run-out. Dismissal appeals, such as for LBW, are not automatic and can be overturned by the umpire.
