Break Street is a breakdance game. First, you select a dancer you want to play, including the two-man team from “Double Trouble.” In warm-up mode you can test different dance moves. Movements are triggered by joystick instructions and use of the fire button. They range from simple moves like the moonwalk to more complex maneuvers like the headspin. Thanks to the same joystick action, different movements are available depending on whether you are standing or performing ground movements. The main game part gives you a time limit in which to make your moves and collect points. An energy bar on the left side of the screen decreases as you perform more complicated moves. To regain some energy, you can do a simple movement like uprock or the moonwalk. When the energy bar is completely used up, your performance is over.
