Advert for Chernobyl on the Commodore 64.
Advert

"Chernobyl: Nuclear Power Plant Simulation" is a simulation where the player takes control of a nuclear power plant. While the title references the 1986 disaster, it has no impact on gameplay. Players analyze numbers, navigate menus, and input commands via a parser, such as disabling generators or closing exhaust valves, to influence the system's behavior. The objective is to maintain smooth power generation and follow emergency procedures outlined in the manual if issues arise. Interestingly, the game was originally intended to be called "Nuclear Power Plant Simulation," but COSMI insisted on naming it "Chernobyl," despite creator Paul Norman's reservations about the title.
