City Bomber was intended as a modern reimagining of the classic Bomber Run – with improved graphics, sound, scrolling, and a new twist: before flattening the city, you first had to rescue people scattered around the map. That twist made the game extremely difficult. Rescues required pixel-perfect flying, crashes were common, and some survivors were stuck inside buildings and unreachable, while bombing nearby could accidentally kill them. Despite this flaw, City Bomber looked like a promising evolution of the original, with a ship selection screen and a cleaner, more modern presentation. But after poor sales of related projects, development stopped, leaving the game nearly complete but unreleased. Maybe it will surface someday, but for now it remains an unfinished gem.
