In Crossbow, you and several friends attempt to traverse many treacherous landscapes to recover stolen treasure from the evil master's castle. All members of your party are unarmed, but you carry a crossbow. In this way you will have to shoot down any obstacles or hostile enemies that might get in the way of your friends crossing the screen. You see the landscape from a first-person perspective and each member of the group walks one by one from left to right on the screen. There are many different landscapes to traverse, each with its own dangers. There are deserts with scorpions, ice caves, jungles with hostile monkeys, a lava-spewing volcano and even the heavily guarded castle. The game starts with two friends in your group. More friends are added after you complete certain parts of the game. The game ends when all members of your party have been killed.
