Deadenders is a humorous text adventure with graphics that is a parody of the British television series "Eastenders". The action takes place in "Herbert Square", a reference to the "Albert Square" in the series, and the characters also have modified names, such as "Dirty Dan" instead of "Dirty Den". The player takes on the role of police officer Donald "Dirty" Dance, who is tasked with solving the disappearance of Effi's little Willie in Herbert Square. To gather clues, the player must question the quirky residents of the neighborhood and examine Herbert Square closely. The game does not use any tools such as command lists or icons; all instructions must be entered in full.
