Droid takes place aboard the transport ship Dreadnought Nine, where a pulsebomb has broken into nine pieces. Without it, Earth will be doomed, so as a search droid you must recover every part. The game is a flick-screen platformer in which you explore the ship while avoiding hostile droids that drain your energy on contact. Armed with a gun, you can shoot them, and scattered pods provide extra firepower or energy boosts. Transporters move you to different ship areas, adding variety to exploration. At intervals, a bonus game appears where you shoot descending poles from the bottom of the screen. Your mission is to collect all bomb pieces and save Earth.
