Eon takes you to the year 2010, when a giant asteroid enters Earth's orbit. Hidden inside are five storage caves, each protected by advanced security systems. Equipped with NASA's most modern spaceship, you set out to uncover their secrets. Your ship can move freely in all directions while firing across a horizontally scrolling screen. In addition to a standard laser, you can switch to stronger beams, a disintegration shield, and reactor bombs. These bombs are vital, since only they can destroy the reactors – and only in the correct order. A display at the bottom of the screen shows if you're on the right path. After each reactor is eliminated, a boss fight awaits on a separate screen. Across five levels with varied terrain and enemies, you must manage limited shields and survive with just three lives.
