Face-Off is based on the gameplay concept of air hockey. Two players compete against each other, trying to shoot a puck into the opponent's goal while defending their own. A center line divides the playing field, and neither player is allowed to cross it. The goal is to be the first to score five goals. In single-player mode, you play against the computer, while in two-player mode, two players compete against each other, each using a joystick. The speed can be set between 1 (slow) and 3 (fast), and the difficulty level for the computer opponent ranges from 1 to 9. After each goal, the player who conceded the goal switches control. The game ends after nine pucks.
