"Germany 1985: When Superpowers Collide" is an operational-level computer strategy game simulating the conflict between NATO and Soviet forces in West Germany. Players choose between two scenarios. In "ADVANCE-TO-CONTACT," Russian and U.S. forces of equal strength race to establish a cohesive front line. In "INVASION," the battle begins with a Soviet airborne drop behind NATO lines aimed at blocking roads and capturing towns to support the advancing main forces. Terrain, especially a river dividing the 28x39 hex-grid battlefield, plays a significant role. In both scenarios, the objective is to control the most towns to achieve victory.
