Gods on the C64 was an ambitious but unfinished project. It was known for its soundtrack and trademark style. The C64 port received an intro demo featuring a faithful music conversion, as well as a small preview of the level 1 map. A special Christmas demo with a hidden message was also released to recruit beta testers. The project was said to be about 50% complete, but technical hurdles such as AI and sprite multiplexing eventually led to its abandonment. Rumors of it being a fake were dispelled since partial builds and testers' accounts confirmed its existence. Today, only the intro and fragments like the XMAS demo survive, while playable previews remain lost. Whether more will surface depends on old disk archives being unearthed someday.
