In Goodness Gracious, you control a frog-like dinosaur defending a red gem – the source of its power – on a single-screen battlefield. Hostile life-forms approach from different paths across the screen, aiming to reach the gem. Your only defense is a fireball launched by holding the fire button – the longer you hold, the farther it travels. But enemies can only be defeated as the fireball falls downward. Fireballs are limited, and more are awarded only for successful hits. After killing three enemies, you advance to the next level. If a creature touches the gem or you run out of fireballs – it's game over.
