Grabber is a single-screen, top-view maze game in which the player moves a creature around the screen and collects treasure in the form of bones on different levels. The screen has two mazes and the player can switch between both mazes by pressing the fire button. The player must then grab a piece of treasure and bring it to the center of one of the mazes.

There are eight treasure pieces, four for each maze, to grab and place. As the player moves, various creatures appear and move around the maze. These must be avoided. Yellow bones can be collected and these allow the player to kill the creatures. However, occasionally an indestructible creature appears that can only be avoided. The creatures that the player can kill also take the treasure from the center and place it somewhere else in the labyrinth.
