In The Blind Command, the player takes on the role of a corps commander leading multiple divisions and being responsible for the lives of thousands of soldiers – the player commands historical battles from the wars with Mexico, World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. The challenge lies in the fact that commanders are often "blind" – they rely on reports from their men. There is no direct contact with the battlefield – only the reports from the troops and the orders the player gives. The soldiers must carry out the orders, but many unpredictable factors come into play – such as weather, enemies, terrain, exhaustion, and lack of supplies. The player must strive to organize the troops efficiently and make the best decisions while navigating the uncertainty and risks of command.
