Intensity is about the space station Canis Major, which has been overrun by aliens. There is no chance of defeating them by force and therefore the station must be evacuated. This noble task falls to the player controlling a skimmer. It's essentially used to fly over the single-screen levels and mark the location where the drone, a rescue ship, is supposed to land. In each level there are different openings from which astronauts come out every now and then - the drone should of course be nearby.

After collecting a certain number of astronauts, the exit opens, but the player can choose to spend more time collecting to earn additional money. It can be used to purchase additional drones and skimmers between levels. The enemies are aliens that walk through the levels. They initially pose no threat, but can mutate into one of two forms. Stalkers have the ability to turn astronauts into suicide bombers;
