| Invade-a-Load allowed players to enjoy a small Space Invaders-like mini-game while the main game was loading on the Commodore 64. This mini-game was ready to play in under a minute, providing entertainment during the often lengthy multi-minute load times of the main game. In at least one instance, Invade-a-Load was even preferred by a critic over the main game itself. This technique was particularly popular in the UK, as the US market had largely transitioned to floppy disks by that time. |
