"Jungle Trouble" takes place in a jungle setting where the player must travel from the bottom right corner of the screen to the top left corner in order to reach home. Along the way, numerous obstacles must be overcome, including crossing platforms without falling into the water or being attacked by crocodiles. An axe can be picked up at the beginning of the game and is needed to chop down trees or defend against monkey attacks, although it gets damaged over time. If the axe is lost, it must be acquired again. The final challenges include swinging on a vine over a fire pit and jumping across increasingly larger gaps between platforms. If the player manages to overcome all obstacles, they will safely reach their destination.
