"MASH" puts the player in the role of a rescue helicopter pilot who must pick up wounded soldiers from designated points (0-9) and transport them to the 4077th unit (+). With only 60 seconds of real time, equivalent to 60 in-game minutes, as many casualties as possible must be evacuated. The helicopter can only land on roads, clearing pads, or pick-up points — landing in the wrong place or running out of fuel results in a crash. The game is controlled with Joystick 2, and the player must remember to take off at the start. Various map symbols indicate minefields, trees, roads, clearings, enemy territory, and water.
