“Nanako in Classic Japanese Monster Castle” is a clever puzzle platformer where you play as brave Nanako, navigating 25 vertically stacked single-screen rooms to rescue your sister Mya, who has fled into a mysterious tower. Each room is a self-contained puzzle, requiring precise box placement, clever dodging and timed jumps to reach the exit at the top. Karakasa (ghost umbrellas) can serve as platforms – though they may suddenly spring to life. You can even drop boxes mid-jump to create floating paths. After each completed room, a password in stylized kun-script is shown to save your progress.
