Operation Swordfish is set in 1942 during World War II. The Allies are planning an invasion along the Mediterranean coast, supported by a large convoy of ships that are threatened by enemy vessels and aircraft. The player assumes the role of a submarine captain whose mission is to destroy as many enemy units as possible before the Allied fleet arrives or the submarine is destroyed. The game combines two modes: in Cannon Mode, the player shoots down aircraft attempting to bomb the submarine, while in Torpedo Mode, enemy ships can be targeted with torpedoes. Switching between the modes is crucial to effectively counter enemy attacks.
