Parallax throws you into a dark future where a supercomputer known as The Big One controls the world. Its code is uncrackable – unless you find scientists, drug them, and bring them to the machine. Each will unlock one letter of the code. But the search is perilous: aliens patrol the base and can gang up on you. Played from a top-down perspective with full multi-directional scrolling, you can upgrade weapons, recharge shields, and even exit your ship to explore on foot. Money? Maybe a sedated scientist has value. The game's namesake parallax scrolling and its epic 11-minute intro track set the tone.
