Protocol is an unfinished bi-directional shooter featuring colorful graphics by Simon Probert. Jason Kelk handled the coding and aimed to release it under Firebird's budget label. While the first preview sparked interest, Firebird later pushed for changes involving trendy themes like BMX and skateboards. Jason refused, not wanting to compromise his vision, and the project was shelved. What remains is a promising prototype that stands today as a piece of Firebird history. Even in its preview form, Protocol shows fast-paced action, challenging controls, and a glimpse of what could have been.
