„Rommel: Battles for North Africa“ is a turn-based, hex-grid strategy game recreating the battles between Allied and Axis forces in North Africa during World War II. Players can engage in eight scenarios from both sides, including historical battles such as „Sidi Rezegh“ (1941), „Alam el Halfa“ (1942), and „Kasserine Pass“ (1943), as well as an alternate German invasion of Malta. Based on the „Battlefront“ system, the game operates at a corps level, incorporating factors like weather, terrain, supply, experience, and morale. Victory depends on capturing key locations within the turn limit. The game includes a scenario editor („WarPlan“) and a map/unit graphics editor („WarPaint“).
