In sailing, the player takes part in a sailing league with the goal of reaching the top.
The same basic process applies to every event: The player challenges another boat, up to two places higher in the league standings, to a race and various changes must be made to their own ship based on the opposing ship and the weather forecast. Before starting a new league, the player chooses a skill level, which determines the starting position in the rankings and thus the difficulty level of the next opponents.
The races themselves take place from a first-person perspective and involve following a course while going faster than the other ship. The information obtained from the display at the bottom of the screen - wind strength, wind direction, boat speed and a minimap - should be used to determine the best course of action. |
