“Shuttle Simulator” is an early simulation of a NASA mission to retrieve a failed satellite – with most controls handled via joystick. The mission is divided into five phases. After an automatic lift-off from Earth's gravity, you guide the shuttle to a rendezvous point. Once the satellite is in sight, approach it carefully before using the robotic arm to capture and secure it in the cargo bay. During re-entry, you steer the shuttle into a designated target zone, before finally guiding it to a safe landing in an external view. The cockpit features a realistic instrument panel displaying altitude, speed, and course information. Certain mission phases switch to an outside view for clarity. Failing a stage does not abort the mission – instead, points are awarded based on performance.
